Should any of these recipes fail, or should 3D Stars crash with an error message, first read the readme.txt that came with the archive you downloaded and check that the problem is not addressed there. Windows NT/2000/XP - Installing 3D Stars 1.21
For these operating systems, 3D Stars comes as a single archive containing a pre-compiled binary and all the support files and data files. The binary has only been tested on Windows XP so far, but I think that it should work on NT and 2000. If you have Windows Millenium edition, then you should probably try the Windows 95/98/DOS binary, see below.

For these operating systems, 3D Stars comes as a single archive containing a pre-compiled binary and all the support files and data files. Note that the binary is not a native Windows application, that is, it will be run in a DOS box by windows 9x. It will not run at all under Windows NT/2000/XP (and probably ME).
